Chapter 9
“My parents were so shocked that they were speechless, my mom especially. After some medications, I was as good as new. My parents went home that day with a resolution to keep me safe.
Unfortunately, I was turned into a male Rapunzel, being locked up in the house when there was nothing to do outside, having a triangular life that consisted of school, house, and church on Sundays alone.
Growing up, I was an effeminate child, and that always triggered my dad’s anger shotgun. I remember the day he beat me into another realm for putting on my sister’s shoes and head scarf at the one and only dinner party I attended as a child.
I remember it clearly. I was with some of my classmates when we tried playing a game we knew as ‘parents and children.’ As usual, even at school, I played the mother part as I was so good at it that some of them actually forgot my name and kept calling me mama, especially when I forgot myself and let the feminine part of me take over.
