Chapter 8
“Some minutes later, my parents were on their way to a pizza joint, amidst the thousand questions fired at them by my sister, but my parents were all speechless as each had thoughts running through their minds.
Then suddenly, snowflakes began to fall from the sky, the perfect distraction for my sister. My parents slept in a hotel room that night. The next morning, they sent by mail a letter stating that they had an emergency travel to make. In the mail, there were cheques for both Ruth and Elizabeth. These were used to both settle Elizabeth for her services and help Elizabeth travel back to the countryside.
My father prepared the travel papers while my mom made calls to their neighbors and the estate agents, putting the house and its furniture on sale. Two days later, they received an email coming from Elizabeth asking for their new address in case she wanted to visit or report further news of the house sale.
