Chapter 14. Haunted House

Seconds later, Julian was still staring at Mia. The girl hadn't answered yet. She was busy observing Cayden who had just received praise from his parents. Only after exhaling lightly, did Mia turn to him.

“The challenge is there, Sir. Are you ready?" the secretary asked, pointing to the side they had not come to.

"Yes," Julian said firmly.

"Then let's go there. Would Cayden want to come along?” Mia asked in a soft tone.

While arranging their son into a hip seat carrier, Max and Gabriella nodded in unison.

“Go first. We will follow," the woman said, accompanied by her husband's nod.

"Okay," the secretary replied with a small smile. A second later, she was leading the way to the challenge the CEO had to face.

"Isn't tonight really fun?" Julian asked as he kept pace with the secretary. Then, he could see the faint furrow of the eyebrows on the girl's face.

"Why do you think so, Sir?"

With the corners of his lips raised on
