Chapter 31. Meeting Again

Winona’s eyes met Richard’s with hatred. Richard swore the woman didn’t look like her usual self. Winona’s beautiful beady eyes now turned pale, almost entirely white. Richard didn’t think much longer. He used his strength and slammed it into Winona’s chest. A second later, Winona closed her eyes. She fainted, but her body was completely still now, not as agitated as before.

“Winona? Winona!” cried Richard worriedly.

He immediately checked Winona’s pulse by holding the woman’s neck. Richard suddenly felt relieved because her heart rate was normal. He also checked Winona’s breath, which felt clear, blowing into his palms. Richard then remembered the white light that appeared on Winona’s calf. He tried to check it, but the light had disappeared completely. Now, Winona’s skin was back to normal.

Winona then jolted awake into a sitting position as if she had just had a shocking nightmare. She was even more surprised to see Richard in her room.

“Are you alright?”
