Chapter 39. Winona’s True Self
Winona’s feet touched the cold seawater. For a few moments, nothing happened. However, after a few minutes, suddenly, a white light came out from Winona’s feet.
“W-what happened?” Winona asked with wide eyes. She was about to step back, but Richard held Winona’s hand and shook his head slowly.
“Do not be afraid. Go deeper into the water,” Richard said to Winona.
Winona knew it was abysmal; she couldn’t back down now. Slowly, Winona then walked step by step deeper into the ocean. Every step she took made the light at her feet grow brighter and shinier. But now Winona was no longer afraid. She just felt nervous and trembling because soon maybe her form would change. Winona thought back to her previous nightmare about a horrible creature in the water.
Now, the seawater was up to Winona’s knees. Winona just realized that there was a kind of scale that appeared in the calf area up to her ankles. The scales were white and glittered like pearls. There was a tinge of
