Chapter 36. Shield

Winona tried to struggle and scream hysterically when Juan was about to sink his sharp fangs into the skin of her neck. Juan knew that once he drank Winona’s blood, even one mouthful, even a thousand silver arrows, would not be able to kill him. He knew what creature Winona really was. Her blood and scales could be used as the greatest weapon. If he couldn’t take all of them for the ritual, he would drink Winona’s blood just a mouthful at this point.

Richard immediately lunged at Juan to stop the vampire from sinking his fangs into the skin of Winona’s neck. However, Richard wouldn’t have had a chance to stop him because Juan was moving so quickly.

Suddenly, unexpectedly by anyone, a bluish light came out from Winona’s body and immediately threw Juan’s body far back. Juan was blown away until his back hit a large tree trunk. Not only Juan but Richard, who was lunging closer, was also blown backward. Richard landed on all fours of his feet which dragged several feet back,
