Chapter 23. Kidnapped

The rest of the trip passed by with Lucien spending more of him time with Anna since he finished his schedule meetings and visits some days earlier.

Anna was back in her city. Back to work. Lucien took her to the site of development and introduced her to people she would work with so she had something to report to her manager.

She had just finished filing her report and was about to go to sleep when her phone lit up with a text. She wasn't a fan of it so she didn't look at it till the phone rang.

It was her mother.

Anna panicked. She had talked to her mother few days ago so she was sure the woman wasn't calling to check up on her.

With a tired sigh, she lifted up the phone to her ear. "Mum," her voice went soft.
