Chapter 7

Audrey woke up to find herself in the dining room; she had slept there while waiting for her husband to come back. It was stated in the rules to always do that no matter how late he was, so she could serve him his food. However, he didn’t seem to have come home, or maybe he did and didn’t bother to wake her. She checked the food she had prepared and covered, but it was just as she had left it, which meant he hadn’t touched it.

She stood up and went to their room, but he wasn’t there. Didn’t he come home last night? she thought. Just then, the door opened and Henry walked in with a stern look on his face. She slowly checked him out and saw a blood stain on his shirt.

“Omg, what happened?” she rushed to him, but he pushed her off and glared at her.

“Did you get into an accident? Is that why you didn’t come home yesterday?” she asked.
