“I’m Lilith.”
His gaze was intense as he bore through her inner core with his cool black pools. They reminded her of the lake she ran to yesterday. The one she’d hoped would give her solace. The comfort didn’t work. His eyes were different than Adam’s. Probably because Adam was a cocky flirt. Demetrese was told to woo her, too. So, of course, Demetrese was putting on all the charm. He then smirked—actually freaking smirked at her! That won’t work!
“Yudi said you’d be hell in a basket, but given what I’ve just seen, I don’t believe him.”
She raised a defiant brow, laughed heartily, and did nothing to hide it.
“Oh? What makes Yudi think I’d give you hell?”
“Honestly?” He said to her as he reached out and tucked a few strands of hair behind her ear before continuing. “I’m not sure. But I think you are wonderful.”
Electric heat coursed through her as his fingers grazed her earlobe. Because, of course, it did! Damned you, Yudi!
“Do you, now?”
