“I’m scared, Djet.” Djet wrapped his arm around Aset and pulled her to his chest.
“Isis wouldn’t have come if there wasn’t a way out of this mess. The goddess may be many things, but being cryptic isn’t one of them.”
“We can’t tempt fate. She told us there was a possibility we might fail! I can’t lose you, Djet. You are my forever love. I couldn’t live in a place where you no longer exist.”
Djet cupped her cheek before resting his forehead on hers. He took in a deep breath before continuing.
