Chapter 19
The consistent ringing of my phone made me crack an eyelid open and glare at the infernal object with all annoyance from my sleep-addled brain. My chest felt heavy, as though a weight was placed on it, and I looked down to see Sam’s rat’s nest hair all around my chest as she slept peacefully against my sensitive torso.
The shrill metallic cry of the phone sounded again, and this time, since I was more aware, it reached into every crevice of my brain and turned on the switch light of my senses till I was wide awake and reaching out to pick the call whilst also making sure not to move too much so as not to wake Sam.
