Chapter 29. Collision

Leah’s POV

The car kept going fast, causing me to grip the strap of the seat belt even tighter. “Please stop!” I finally let out, my heart beating so hard that it felt like I was going to puke.

Rafael laughed, almost as if he was playing a game and was enjoying how I was being. “Oh, Leah, live a little!”

“Please!!” Tears filled my eyes and I was breathing deeply. The windows were up so there was no wind being blown into the car, otherwise, it would have been even more scary, I believed. 

To make matters worse, the guy switched to the other lane. The one that we were not supposed to be on. “Whoo-hoo!!” He exclaimed, laughing as if this was the only thing that brought him joy.

Maybe it was the adrenaline. Or maybe it was the rapid beating of his heart that he enjoyed. Or maybe it was the sheer joy he got from daring death. 

But I wanted no part of it. 

I wanted to live. I didn’t want to end up in another car cra
