Chapter 38. A Special Gift

The black gift box with the silver ribbon was placed on her dressing table. She studied the box for a moment, wondering if it would be safe to open it.

“It doesn’t contain anything scary, does it?” she murmured, a little worried.

Slowly, Aleah untied the silver ribbon that enhanced the look of the gift box and carefully opened it. However, her fears were not confirmed. Inside was a blue velvet box, along with a postcard.

To my dearest Aleah Skyler,

When this gift reaches you, it means I’m going away and I’m saying goodbye with this gift. I won’t be able to contact you for some time because of the work I’m doing.
