Chapter 10

Abe’s face changed as we both looked at Lucia, still in an unconscious state.

“Is everything okay?” I asked him.

“Sure, Lucia will be fine,” he grabbed his jacket and took out his phone.

Abe and I both waited for Lucia to regain consciousness. She eventually did after I had counted from 1 to at least 1000.

“Oh! What happened?” Lucia calmly said, turning to Abe. “Brother? What are you doing here?”

Abe’s face cracked open with a smile. “Thank God, you’re fine. Elisabeth called me, and when I came, you were unconscious. What happened?” He scooted closer to his sister’s bed.

Lucia turned in my direction, looked at me, and then Abe turned back, realizing I was still standing behind their back. He looked back at his sister and said, “Lulu, I’ll speak with you tomorrow.” He left, tapping my shoulder as he approached the door.
