Chapter 5
I awoke the next morning to the sound of the bedroom door opening. I groggily sat up in the oversized bed I was presently tied to and watched as one of the Betas assigned to guard me, Noah, brought in a push tray of food.
“Good morning,” he said to me as he nodded his head.
“Mmph,” I responded.
“I was assigned the task of feeding you this morning,” Noah explained as he came over to me. “I would like to remove your mouth covering so you can eat the food I brought you, but I need to let you know that I was given orders not to feed you if you screamed at all while the cloth was removed,” he relayed the orders he had been given to me.
I nodded my head in understanding. Noah took the cloth off my mouth and then brought the push tray of food over to me.
“Perhaps I should just scream, considering I know I will only be eating trash and scraps,” I remarked.
Noah made no comment as he pulled the lid off the plate, revealing pancakes, bacon, and eggs.
“The Alpha requested that we only feed you the best of what is being served by the chefs. He is worried about you not being able to receive your blessing properly because of a weak body,” Noah revealed.
“Why is he so concerned about me and my blessing all of a sudden?” I asked angrily.
“The Alpha always has been, at least, for as long that I have been serving him,” Noah shrugged. “I am sure he would not have gone through with measures such as these if he did not fear you killing yourself or running away before he got to see you receive your blessing.”
“That… really did not answer my question…” I sighed.
Noah held the plate before me and lifted a forkful of egg to my mouth. “All I can tell you is what I know,” he spoke. “Do you want to continue interrogating me, or do you want to eat?” Noah questioned.
“Fine,” I huffed before taking a bite from the fork he held in front of me.
Noah then went on to feed me the entire breakfast and help me drink two glasses of orange juice.
“The Alpha will be in shortly to talk to you. Do you know what size clothing you wear?” he inquired as he cleaned up and got ready to leave.
“Not a clue,” I sighed.
“I will let him know. Please rest until the Alpha can come and see you,” he said as he began to leave. “Oh, almost forgot,” Noah said before turning around and coming back over to me with the cloth.
“Is this really necessary?” I complained.
“It is until I am told otherwise,” Noah told me.
I sighed but did not fight him as he put the covering back over my mouth. I laid back down on the bed and stared up at the canopy hanging over me.
The bedroom had a luxury theme using the colors of purple and black. It was custom in the Hallow Wood Pack that Luna and her space be represented by purple. I had always hated it as a color, preferring shades of red over the gaudy royal purple that covered everything in the room.
I sat back up and glanced around the room. I then noticed my reflection in the vanity that was partially facing the bed.
I always appeared as if I had a coat of dirt on my skin, making my tan skin even darker than it naturally was. My reddish-brown hair was matted and looked dull due to the fact that it had not been washed properly in years at this point. My reddish-brown eyes were just as dull as my hair as well.
Out of all the females in the pack, I was the dullest. I always wondered if a part of the reason Elizabeth got away with torturing me was simply because she was more gorgeous than I would ever be.
I laid back down in the bed, stuck alone with my thoughts until Killian decided to grace me with his presence.
“Sorry, it took me so long to get here. Adal is being a prick about his party this evening,” Killian said when he came to visit me. He paused for a moment, lingering by the side of the bed as he peered down at me. “I was told that you did not scream this morning for breakfast. Am I to assume you will not do so now if I remove the cloth?” he questioned.
“Mmph,” I nodded my head.
Killian leaned in closer to me, preparing to remove the cloth from my mouth.
“I will punish you if you scream. Understood?” he asked.
I nodded my head; then, he removed the cloth from around my mouth. I did not scream, and he nodded his head in approval.
“You look like shit, my little kit,” Killian commented as he grabbed my face and attempted to wipe something off it.
I pulled away from him. “I have not been able to bath on account of only being allowed to bath myself in the river outside,” I responded. “Hard to do during the rainy season,” I scowled.
“That is a valid point,” Killian sighed as he sat down on the edge of the bed.
I tried to scoot away from him, but my bindings prevented me.
“Well, you did not scream, so I am feeling inclined to reward you for your good behavior,” Killian said as he reached out and undid the bindings on my feet and hands.
“So, I am free to go?” I questioned in surprise.
“Absolutely not,” Killian laughed.
I frowned before trying to bolt to the bedroom door.
“Ha-ha!” Killian laughed as he easily grabbed me by the waist and threw me back onto the bed. He pinned me to the bed with one of his large hands with ease. “And here I was being nice,” Killian smirked.
