Chapter 25

A cold wind blew through the swamp. Majority of the inhabitants had retired into their cabins and tents for the night. The remaining minority had remained awake to stay on guard. Some had stayed by the east wing, some by the west, some by the north and the remaining stayed by the south which was the entrance. The Alpha had made command to his pack. After the battle with the vampires, everyone must be on guard and not let the previous victory get into their heads. The unpredictability of the vampires was something Ronald had become accustomed to.

Alpha Ronald himself sat in his office scribbling away on a large paper. The office was lit up by various lamps positioned in different corners of the room. He rolled the paper up and put it into the drawer in his desk just as there was a knock at the door. A few seconds later, it opened and the Beta stepped in.

 "Alpha Ronald." He greeted, shutting the door gently behind him.

"Ken." Ronald nodded. "How was the patrol?"
