Chapter 58. Space

Immediately the door slides open, the view of the interior greets the two women. Cathy strides in furiously, pushing into the space with Lara’s box. Her suspicion that Meg has once more brought in a fuck mate to the house seems to be the propelling force.

“Meg! Come down here!” Her voice echoes and her footsteps make cadet knocks on the brown floor tiles as she drifts away. Lara slowly edges into the enclave while the door slides shut behind her, the ethereal cleanness of the space, the first thing that appeals to her. The smell of lavender lingers in the air, stimulating a calming sensation within her and forcing a bright smile to coarse her face.

She glares around, from the roof-to-ground windows, crimson-red curtains, oxblood cushions surrounding a center round table just in front of a fireplace. Perfect.
