Chapter 2
Selene's POV
Vampires, witches, and werewolves arose seemingly out of nowhere in the 18th century.
In fact, they quickly became rivals.
But...
After many years, the elders of each group decided to establish rules that must be followed in order to keep the peace.
and that is to preserve a secret about them.
Vampires, witches, and werewolves can't either.
because they discover that their neighbors have harmed or injured others. They can take care of that.
No, I'm not sure what kind of killing they'll do to them because Niko never told me.
In addition, I know virtually little about seniors.
Only the firstborns of each familial clan in the group are aware of their existence.
That means Niko has already arrived.
But, given that there are still vampires who want to break the rules, I believe the elders are not as strict as they should be.
"What exactly are you thinking, Selene?"
I looked at the person who had called my name.
My two brows shot up, and my smile spread wider.
Finally!
"Brother Felix!" I exclaimed joyfully.
I desperately want to return home.
"You're so happy all of a sudden, ah. Is that how you miss me?" He irritates me nonetheless.
I gave him a frown and said, "Ew, gross."
Felix simply laughed at me before continuing to speak. He told me that because we had paid the expenses, we could leave the hospital.
Felix inquired, "Would you like to eat at the restaurant?"
"No, let's just take it out and bring it home, and don't give it to Sister Vera either," Felix advised with a smile.
"Alright!" She say.
I smiled as she said it. That's why I'd rather be with Felix than the two of them.
"By the way, Vera told me it was a man who brought you here to the hospital," he said angrily. "Wow, your first day in school Then you have a first date with a boyfriend—"
"What the f*ck, brother?" What kind of mind do you have now?" I sneered at him.
When he suddenly hit me, my mouth flew open.
"That's why Vera kept complaining to me earlier, because you're always cheap," he chastises me.
What can I state? My mouth is used to it.
I just kept walking without saying anything.
When we arrived at the car, Felix immediately started the engine, and we even stopped by our favorite restaurant to place an order.
When we got home, I noticed Vera eating popcorn while reading a book she had borrowed from me.
"We're here," Felix replied, explaining why Vera had turned to us.
"Yes, we're finally here."
While I was looking for Niko, Vera and Felix continued to talk.
"Where is Niko?" I'm like a little girl yearning for her mommy.
"I'm here," I heard Niko say from the side, prompting me to turn around.
"Oh, I thought you went to your office again," I remarked, shaking my head.
My parents died in a vehicle accident when I was seven years old. Because they are vampires, I'm not sure if that's true.
But I only pretended to believe them because I knew they had a legitimate purpose for concealing the true cause of their deaths.
And after they died, Niko took care of us and continued the business that our parents started.
"Since you're here," Niko replied, "we can talk about what happened to you."
I agreed by nodding. Niko motioned Felix and me to sit on the sofa, which we did right away.
"Vera, I already know what happened to you... except for you and Felix."
"All right," I said.
"My friend told me the reason for your unconsciousness," he stated before taking a seat on a single sofa. "You're at the age where your body is really looking for blood, Selene."
Wait. I appear to be on the right track.
"You mean, that's why I passed out because I didn't drink blood?" I ponder.
I stopped consuming blood after our parents died, which is why my body is so weak.
"Yes, and if you keep doing it, you could die," Vera said directly to me.
"But..." "But... I don't want to drink blood."
I don't dislike blood; I just don't want to drink it.
Furthermore, their blood tastes different. Nothing appeals to my taste buds.
"Selene, you can't refuse people's blood any longer; what if you pass out?" Sister Vera inquired.
"You know, I've forced myself to drink blood several times, but my body doesn't want to," I remarked, shaking my head.
Every time I try to drink, I promptly vomit. I get nauseated sometimes when I try not to vomit.
"Just try drinking blood," Niko suggested.
They were all quiet for a moment while they awaited my response.
"Fine," I sighed, "for now." "I really won't drink anymore if my body still doesn't accept it," I said, threateningly.
Niko grinned at me before nodding, and Vera exhaled a sigh of relief.
Niko directed Felix to obtain a bag of blood and place it in a glass.
I wasn't even attracted to the blood as I saw it being poured into the glass.
"Thank you," I said as Felix completed splattering blood over the glass.
Felix simply rubbed my shoulder as he waited for me to sip the blood.
I'm worried.
Before taking the glass and drinking the blood with my eyes closed, I bit my lip.
I've only had three blood cocktails when I feel something in my stomach that causes me to stop.
"What?" Niko is waiting for my response.
As I looked at them, my mouth trembled. "S-shit, I'm going to vomit," I said as I set the glass down and dashed to the sink.
I vomited up all of the blood I had consumed.
I knew the blood wouldn't last long in my stomach as soon as I saw it.
It has a bitter taste.
