Selene's POV

Vera sighed as she said, "It's not working."

Felix approached me and caressed my back.

I have finished vomiting up all the blood, now here I am, starving.

"I told you I couldn't drink blood," I murmured, my mouth still full.

Fortunately, Felix and I had purchased food.

"What are we going to do, Brother Niko? Selene can't just be like this," Felix said.

I merely shook my head and swallowed again.

I'm not sure I comprehend them. They are really putting pressure on me to do something I don't want to do.

"I'll think of another way," Niko answered, explaining why I came to a halt.

"Come on! Just give up; nothing will happen; I'll just get more tired," I grumbled to them, swallowing once more.

They couldn't stand it any longer. me, too, have nothing to lose.

"Selene, do you know what happens to vampires who reject blood?" Felix's inquiry made me swallow.

"What?"

"They became monsters."

My mouth dropped open, and I stared in bewilderment at Felix.

What the hell is going on?

"Pfft!" I covered my lips and tried hard not to giggle. "I'm sorry, but I was just laughing."

Felix aggravated my stomachache, hehe!

"All right, just laugh." "Don't blame us if you turn into a monster."

"All right!" I laughed and remarked to Felix:

I know Felix is very invested in the movies he watches.

I got up early the next morning to get ready for school.

I couldn't go in yesterday because of what happened to me, so I'll have to rest today.

"Are you leaving again without breakfast?" Niko asked, leaving the door wide.

"Who said that? Of course not! Why would I refuse the grace?" I kissed him on the cheek before heading to the kitchen to prepare breakfast.

I ran into Felix and Vera, who were dining peacefully. They only noticed me when I sat close to Vera.

Both of them said, "Good morning."

"Good morning!" I said with a smile.

Vera shouted out to me, "Selene."

"Yes?"

"I've already finished your book; do you have any erotica novels that I haven't read yet?" Felix and I both gulped at the same time as Vera inquired.

Sister, what the f*ck? Why are you asking that blatantly in front of us?

That's why the erotica novels on my bookshelves are missing; she stole them!

"Did you read erotica novels?" Felix asked, surprised.

"Yes, why? Is there any problem with it?" Sister Vera inquired solemnly.

"But Vera," I said anxiously.

"I had no idea you were reading erotica."

We all looked at Niko at the same time. He tucks his necktie in.

That's correct. Erotic novels, farewell!

Niko will very certainly confess to me.

"Vera because.." I'm going to blame Vera.

She raised an eyebrow at me, leading me to turn away.

When Niko called my name, I looked up and said, "Selene."

"How old are you?"

"I'm 17 but turning 18 this year... Why? Are you going to confiscate my books?" I sobbed.

For a brief time, Niko remained silent and fixed his gaze on me. I feel like I'm about to melt into his gaze.

However, the trick remains! Vera can get away with it since she is of legal drinking age, however I am not... Never mind, haha.

"I will," I replied, causing my shoulders to slump.

I gasped when I heard Niko say, "I can read your mind, Selene."

"There is no rag in my mind!"" I scowled at him.

I feel like I'm reverting to childhood.

"What about this? You don't confide in Selene's erotic novels when she finds blood that suits her taste." Vera's crotch jerked.

Felix concurred, saying, "Yeah, Vera is right."

When I saw the two talking to Niko, my eyes seemed to sparkle.

So I understand why Vera is acting this way.

That's more appropriate for erotica novels than for me.

I had just arrived back to the cottage when I heard Niko sigh.

"All right, let's give it a shot," Niko agreed with the two of them.

I want to scream with delight. There will be no confiscation of erotica novels, hehe.

"But I'll give you two months to find your own blood to drink, and if you still can't find any, I'll confiscate every novel you own."

While Niko said that, the smile on my face vanished.

That seems to be worse!

I noticed Felix laughing as Vera tried not to notice what was going on.

I went to school first after we had breakfast.

I simply walked, as I had done the day before.

My thoughts were mainly on what Niko had said earlier as I walked.

"He'll confiscate all my books if I can't find anything," I muttered before collapsing and sitting on the road.

"Again," I said, kneeling down and peering at the dirt.

For a few seconds, I was like that until I observed two pairs of shoes in front of me.

My grimace suddenly vanished, replaced by surprise.

"Are you okay?" asked a familiar voice.

"Who...?" I looked up at the person in question, and my eyes widened as I realized who it was.
