Chapter 18. Saving Things
Before Ruby could open her mouth to say, “She must be the one,” the mysterious lady vanished into thin air.
Lacey and Ruby glanced at each other. “I was right,” Ruby whispered. “We are dealing with a whispering spirit.”
“I don’t think she needs our help,” Lacey said. “She’s gone.”
“I wouldn’t say gone,” Ruby said. She glanced at Lacey. “Something is not right.”
“What is not right?”
As Ruby was about to answer, the mysterious lady appeared—she flew at a terrifying speed toward them. The lights that served as ancient ushers toward the gate began to flicker.
There was a loud wailing sound coming from her. Getting 14 feet toward Lacey and Ruby, she stopped and wailed aloud.
