Chapter 20. Wolf Down
There had been another homicide. The mutilated corpse of a young man was found in a dumpster in Brooklyn. Two officers were patrolling the street when they heard a bloodcurdling scream coming from a dark alley. Before they could spring into action, they radioed for backup. But there was no response from the control unit, so they knew they needed to act fast to save the night.
Their hearts raced inside them as sweat streamed down their cheeks. They were pretty scared, as it was their first patrol after graduating from the Police Academy. They knew it needed to be their best shot, a fast lane to be recognized with the Medal of Honor. They both glanced at each other as they pulled over by the entrance of the alley. They knew they couldn’t wait for backup anymore and needed to spring into action.
