Chapter 19. No to Strangers
A dominant footstep echoed against the concrete walls of the Williams Hotel. Lacey stood behind her desk, ready to receive new guests into her hotel. The dominant footsteps drew her attention, and she raised her head, narrowing her gaze to the entrance only to see Alex Cole. The very person she never wanted to see. She hissed heavily and looked away, pretending she didn’t see him.
“Hi,” he said, flashing a golden smile. “We meet again.”
“Are you stalking me?” Lacey lashed out, not holding back her annoyance. “How did you even find me?” She was bitter seeing him and, at the same time, ashamed. Her erotic dreams of him made her feel like he had already seen her nakedness. Standing before Alex Cole, she felt naked and ashamed of every moment she had with him in her dreams.
“Oh no,” he spoke up hastily without hesitation in his voice. “Stalking you? I’m not. I promise.”
