Chapter 44. Hexed
“Ruby!” Detective Jones called out, rushing toward Ruby. “Are you alright?” he asked with a concerned look as he helped Ruby to her feet.
“I will live,” Ruby muttered. “We need to find someplace quiet and talk.”
Before anyone could see them in the interrogation room, they had already left. Finally, the lead Detective on Cat’s murder case walked in to question her.
After setting the cameras to capture the interrogation, he rolled out a chair and sat opposite Cat, facing her. He lowered his file and slowly opened it. One after another, he picked out pictures from the crime scene where the murder was committed and set them before Cat, lining them up next to each other. This included the picture of the deceased old woman that Cat had stabbed with a knife in the neck.
The Detective cleared his throat to draw Cat’s attention. She had not moved or even looked up to see the Detective sitting before her. All she did was continue twisting her hair and giggling to herse
