Chapter 66. The Surprise

Nathaniel’s POV

I followed William until we got to his guest room section. I kept wondering what he wanted to show me as we walked on. And why did he have to do that on his birthday? This was his special day. He was meant to be focused on his guests downstairs.

We got into the room and then walked further to an inner room.

“Wait here,” he said and turned.

“Hold on. What’s this all about, William?”

“Just shut it and chill, okay? Your surprise is coming soon,” he said and walked away.

I sat down on one of the free chairs in the room. I unbuttoned my suit so I was more comfortable. A part of me felt like William was about to spring up something crazy on me because of our strained relationship, but I was more than ready for him.

I heard footsteps approaching the room. I kept my gaze fixated on the entrance, ready for whoever was about to walk in. It must be a woman since I could hear the clear clinking of heels against the hard floor.
