Chapter 13
Martinez held her tighter and comforted her for a while before the lady turned and pushed Martinez’s hand away.
“Leave me alone, go, leave this place,” the lady said calmly while they looked at each other. Tom nodded to confirm the order as he closed his pen, and Martinez stood up.
“Thanks for trusting me!” Martinez said, but the lady curled up like a ball instead, and Tom could tell she was in pain both physically and emotionally.
They walked out, and Tom returned his pen and pocket pad back inside his pocket. They left for Jane’s ward, which was directly opposite the other ward.
“Look at the young officer who is resting fine,” Martinez said, and Jane chuckled.
Martinez went to her and hugged her instantly, and it was tight, and Jane felt it was really not what she thought the hug was for.
Jane was quick to pick up, rubbed her back, and whispered in her ear.
“It’s fine; it used to be tough on some days like this,” Jane said, and Martinez ch
