Chapter 14
Tom chuckled. “You are old enough; did you just call yourself old enough to decide? I would be glad if you could be old enough to pay your bills as well and get out of my apartment. Do those friends provide you with shelter, clothing, and food? If so, gladly move out of my house and choose them,” Tom yelled at her back and walked straight to his room.
Emily sighed and continued watching her show.
Tom was having a peaceful sleep when his phone suddenly rang at exactly 5:45 a.m. He groaned a bit before he stretched to pick up the phone and answered the call.
“Hello,” he said with a hoarse voice as he was still sleepy.
“Tom!” the voice called out, panting heavily. Immediately, Tom’s eyes cleared, and he checked the caller.
“Jane!” he called out, but this time, he could only hear her faint breathing.
“I am on my way; I am coming!” Tom yelled as he jumped out of his bed, pulled off his nightwear, and picked a pair of trousers and a shirt in haste.
