“My mom knew she had hit a sour spot and decided to carry out her plan, adamantly disagreeing and practically dragging Elizabeth to the market while telling her stepsister that she won’t be back until evening as my aunt used to go to work and come back early in the noon time.
At the market, my mother noticed some funny movements. There seemed to be a constant shadow. Someone was following them closely. Mother sensed it should be the person sent to deliver the goods Elizabeth had ordered last night, so she made sure not to let Elizabeth out of her sight. Constantly, mom found her trying to slip from her line of vision, but she made it a point of duty to pretend to need Elizabeth’s advice or opinion in everything she saw at the market, thereby not giving her a chance to meet that person.
There was someone shadowing them. Even when Elizabeth said she had to use the restroom, my mother accompanied her and waited at the door. Elizabeth lasted almost thirty minutes in the rest
