Chapter 3. The Hunt
Charlotte Eva held onto her backpack tightly as she walked out of the school gate. She had always felt odd in the midst of her people, especially her classmates, whom she barely knew, and today was no different. She felt like she had just floated the day away. She couldn’t remember what she had been taught in class, not that she paid attention anyway.
Her mind was more preoccupied with other stuff, and at the moment, she really could not be bothered about a lecturer standing in front of the class talking about what she may never get to put to good use at the end.
She waved to her other classmates who had invited her for coffee at the new cafe that opened in the area, but she had politely declined, as she was not in the mood for that. She didn’t really like coffee to begin with and did not feel the need to make friends with people she might probably not
