Chapter 253. Would You Believe Me, If Only for a Few Minutes?

Carlos had many complicated feelings about the kiss. First there had been guilt at doing the one thing he’d promised himself he wouldn’t let happen and then afterwards there had been shame at kissing her and leaving her locked in a basement in his house and looking like she was on death’s door.

He had asked the kitchen to do all they could go make her meals more appetizing and he’d made arrangements for more comfortable pillows and bedding to be brought in for her. He’d done quite a lot in hopes of getting her to look better and perhaps she was but not noticeably so. There had been a sort of shame in leaving her there but he had yet to sort out his feelings and the details of their situation.

Not to mention the kiss had come out of nowhere.
