Chapter 6
"It's not what you think," I try to explain.
"Leave right now," he says angrily, making me click my tongue and go in search of Alana.
Stupid and miserable Alana.
Will I ever be able to escape from her from now on?
I hate having left Sofia alone and running after Alana, but I know how much she's been struggling with her ex-boyfriend, and we're getting married soon. I don't want her to resent me in a few years for being a bad friend or the closest thing to friends that I am. I see her sitting on a wall outside the bar, and I approach her. No one is around her, which means no one has realized who she is yet.
"You stink," I say, sitting next to her. She looks at me, her eyes widening so much that I feel like laughing, but I refrain from doing so. She was so absorbed in crying that she didn't realize I was there.
"You don't have to remind me."
"You don't always stink," I clarify. "Right now, you do."
"Fine, it's none of your business."
