Chapter 34. The Stranger Who Arrived Suddenly
“What are you going home on and who are you going with?” asked Rafael, aligning his steps with Aleah.
Aleah looked away briefly and then turned her face and stared straight ahead. She glanced at the watch on her wrist, which showed 6 p.m., a sign that she was already an hour late from her usual time.
“None of your business. You should have gone home since the meeting ended this morning, so why are you following me around like a stalker?” she sneered.
“Aleah,” Rafael called in a slightly louder voice. This made Aleah reflexively look around to make sure none of the other employees had heard the overly familiar call Rafael had given her.
“Take a taxi,” Aleah finally replied.
“Then you’ll come home with me. I happen to have my transportation.”
