I received a call from Mom just a few seconds after Daniel left; she wanted me home for tonight’s bake-off. However, our bake-off wasn’t the typical cake-baking event with colorful decorations; in my family, we used blood as our bake-off material.
I left college and headed back home. Upon arriving, I found Grandma had gathered all the maids for a meeting. These gatherings often resulted in chaos, and Mom had to step in to prevent it from escalating into a catfight.
Though Grandma might be over a hundred years old, she had a lot of spirit. I wondered what plans my mom and grandma had for this unconventional bake-off.
I went to my bedroom to change out of my college attire and into the bake-off clothes or maybe costumes that my mother had the seamstress, Mrs. Tori Grant, make for our ‘not so perfect’ family.
And yes, Mrs. Tori Grant, Mom’s seamstress, wasn’t human; she seemed more like a werewolf, I think?
