The door opened again and Elaine raised her head to stare at the new person in Pops store. Maybe it was Sharon back from trying to comfort Jude from the fallout because of Harris’ cruel words.

But when she stared at the door, it wasn’t Sharon or Jude or anyone she knew in Kentwood. No, it was just a certain blonde man with piercing blue eyes who had filled her mind these past few days. A certain man that commanded respect with his presence. A certain man that she was mad at.

He stood by the door, not really doing anything but staring while his hair and clothes were plastered to his face because of the rain. He was a sorry sight but he wasn’t one that she was going to pity.

She turned from him and resumed Sharon’s task of cleaning the surface of the table with a microfiber rag. “What for?”
