Chapter 126

Hours after my uncomfortable conversation with Anya, Kade offered to take me out.

Pool balls knocked against each other in the corner where teams of two played. Kade and I sat on a round table with his friends, Atlas, Holden, two other guys and Leiah, drinking beer.

“We should have Kahn by the end of the week. I hope I’m a part of picking his punishment,” Atlas joked.

Kade hadn’t said much since we sat. He drank his beer and formed circles on my inner thigh in silence.

“You okay?” I leaned in and whispered.

“I’m cool, I just don’t feel like talking about work.”

I snuggled closer to him and wrapped my arm around his waist. Kade stretched his hand and rested it on my hip. The lights in the bar were dim. It was a large place with a huge TV that captivated most of the clientele’s attention.

“A toast!” Leiah exclaimed, holding a tray of shot glasses.

“To what?” Kade asked, rubbing my hip. His fingers inched close to my crotch.
