Chapter 26. Grieving

“Dear, it’s… it’s time to say goodbye to your parents…”

Auntie led me to the two identical white coffins of Mommy and Daddy. Uncle was by my side, and Lee was next to Auntie.

Lee had been looking for a few seconds already because Uncle had lifted her up, and now Uncle lifted me so I could see Mommy and Daddy. I couldn’t see them one last time without Uncle lifting me because I was still small.

“Goodbye, Mommy and Daddy. Thank you so much for everything… I love you two so much…” I whispered softly while both my hands rested on the glass of their coffins where I could see their faces. Mommy and Daddy looked so good… they just seemed to be sleeping. They looked so at peace.

As I whispered those words, tears slowly fell down my cheeks.

It had been three days since the accident happened, and Mommy and Daddy were laid out in the house for only two days before the burial today. Only a few of our relatives had come since neither Mommy nor Dad
